Cornerstones are specific lessons taught within the curriculum that serves to make learning more engaging and to ensure equal access to a quality education for all students. For the 2015-2016 school year, DCPS needed materials to help introduce the concept to parents and the community. MMD created the logo to symbolize the power and reach of learning through these enhanced lessons and also created iconography to represent various categories of subject matter.
Once the identity was designed, collateral materials were developed to be used in conjunction with communications efforts. The project was awarded a 2016 American Graphic Design Award by GDUSA (Graphic Design USA).
