Bethesda Streetery
Bethesda Streetery
In partnership with the Bethesda Urban Partnership, MMD has designed outdoor dining areas transforming a five-block area into a pedestrian-focused zone. to provide additional restaurant seating.
This project aims to create an outdoor art gallery that celebrates local artists and offers a vibrant gathering place for music, dining, and socializing. The Streetery and the Summer Concert Series are both initiatives organized by the Bethesda Urban Partnership. Bethesda UP is also working towards converting part of Norfolk Avenue into a permanent shared street, a concept recommended in the 2017 Bethesda Downtown Master Plan. The Streetery, initially established during the pandemic in 2020, provides seating areas for outdoor dining from nearby restaurants.
