We the Girls Brand Refresh

We the Girls Brand Refresh

In 2017, DC's Mayor Muriel Bowser launched "Reign" to support Black and Latina girls in the District of Columbia and to address the opportunity gap, focusing on the tenets of identity, leadership and wellness. Since then, MMD Branding has been working with DC Public Schools to help support marketing and communications efforts around programming and resources especially special events and programs titled  "We the Girls", which are offered year round.

In 2023, the DCPS Equity team approached MMD about a slight brand refresh for the WTG program, including a new logo mark and the launching of a new website.

MMD utilized a vibrant color palette and designed several new logo treatments, which were presented to a focus group of DCPS students for review and feedback.  The students selected the final logo.

The newly-launched website provides a more engaging experience for visitors, explaining the history and mission of the WTG program, encouraging participation in events, and sharing resources. The website also features a gallery and testimonials, so young women involved in the program can share their experiences and see their own voices represented.
