Mount Vernon Triangle is a vibrant 17-block neighborhood in the East End of Downtown DC, known for its welcoming and authentic community. The Mount Vernon Triangle CID (Community Improvement District) aims to nurture this unique area, fostering diverse cultures and experiences while strengthening its sense of community.

For the fiscal year 2018, MMD partnered with the Mount Vernon Triangle CID to design an annual report that highlighted the year's achievements and ongoing initiatives. The report showcased the success of new programs aimed at enhancing connections through parks, arts, culture, and events. It included summaries of community-building events, detailed project lists across residential, retail, office, and hospitality sectors, and featured stories and quotes from retailers about why they chose to set up shop in the neighborhood. It also celebrated the "Clean Team Ambassadors" for their dedication to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. The report concluded with a striking triangular word cloud, visually representing the results of the 2018 Neighborhood Perception Survey and reflecting residents' and visitors' sentiments about what makes Mount Vernon Triangle special. The report was unveiled at the CID's annual meeting in May and is also available on the organization's new website.

In addition, MMD updated the CID’s Development Map and created a new map highlighting the area's growth and connections beyond its boundaries. The new map featured a bold coral color, intentionally chosen to signify innovation and progress, and its design proved so effective that it continues to be used and updated.
