Empowering Males of Color is a DC Public Schools initiative, bringing together school and district leaders to implement strategies that will inspire the success of black and latino male students. The goal is to prepare males of color for college, career, and life beyond DCPS. MMD was commissioned to create a crest for the Ron Brown College Preparatory High School that embodies the mission of EMOC. The strong symbolism of the lion is juxtaposed with words that represent the school’s motto. In the school, the students are referred to as “kings”. With a color palette that represents royalty and excellence, the logo conveys the honorable mission of the school and program.
