DCBIA Annual Community Improvement Day

DCBIA Annual Community Improvement Day

In 2017, DCBIA marked its 25th anniversary of dedicated service to the community with a milestone celebration of its annual Community Improvement Day. To commemorate this significant event, MMD was tasked with creating all the promotional materials, including t-shirt designs and various marketing collateral.

The goal was to visually capture DCBIA's mission of fostering leadership, community, partnership, and economic growth in the nation’s capital through an energetic, youthful, and accessible bird's-eye view of Washington, DC. The design features oversized urban elements, local monuments, and, most importantly, diverse citizens spread throughout the district, creating a sense of intimacy and neighborhood among all DC residents.

The map's depiction reduces the city's scale, emphasizing that everyone in Washington, DC, is part of a close-knit community. Additionally, multiple flags highlight the various events celebrated over the years, further reinforcing DCBIA’s deep connection with and commitment to the district.
