Working with the community, school and district leaders the EMOC team identifies strategies to elevate the student experience, increase achievement, and prepare males of color for college, careers and life beyond DCPS. Specifically, goals include improving literacy rates, improving graduation rates, preparing students for high-wage and growth careers, and improving student satisfaction.
Working with the MMD branding team, the collaborative effort resulted in a clean, modern logo with bold typography that complements the DCPS brand. The combination of lighter and darker blues represent diversity and also provide a nod to the DCPS brand palette. The identity also utilizes the stars that represent the District of Columbia as a framework and symbol of pride and to symbolize building community, a very important mission of the initiative.
