MMD’s Zarela Mosquera To Be Featured On “People In America” Segment

“People in America” (PIA) tells the stories of artists, public servants, innovators, philosophers — people whose voices are making a difference in communities across our country.

PIA showcases interviews of Americans from all corners of the globe. The stories focus on how these interesting people “personify democracy, self-sufficiency, expression and community.”  The PIA team visited our offices in March, and interviewed our design strategist, Zarela Mosquera.  Zarela spoke about her background, and how she was inspired to become an industrial designer.  She spoke about her passion for public art, and for creating things that ultimately enhance and improve people’s lives.

“I was inspired to become a designer because I wanted to be part of creating something that resonated, that spoke to people.”  Here at Marshall Moya, Zarela is working on a variety of projects, including public art exhibits, and branding projects for D.C. Public Schools.

PIA is a product of VOA Learning English, a D.C.-based media company that is a source of news and information for millions of English learners worldwide. Viewers and learners absorb English through content, and programs are broadcast on radio and satellite television.

Our segment is scheduled to air in April.
