With close to 20 years of professional architecture experience, Yoshio’s extensive portfolio includes substantive work in commercial, large-scale residential, institutional and mixed-use work. In his role at MMD, he is actively involved in programming, schematic design, design development, preparing construction documents and comprehensive timelines and budgets, and fulfilling project specifications, while leading project management. He has contributed to diverse projects including The Howard Theatre; the University of the District of Columbia Student Center; Leckie Elementary School; DMV in the District; and a 20,000 square-foot private residence. Currently, he is working on projects for Bread for the City, Fort Lincoln, and the new stadium for DC United. Prior to joining MMD, Yoshio worked with some of the area’s leading developers to design and manage a number of notable projects, including new construction high-rise condominiums with ground-floor retail, throughout the District and also in New York. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from Hokkaido Tokai University and Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He is licensed in the District of Columbia and in Maryland.
