Kalorama Residence Renovation

Kalorama Residence Renovation

The main focus for this project was to design a renovation that would result in a loft-like living, dining, and kitchen space on the ground floor of this townhouse. There were three key elements to the design. First, the clients were passionate about the concept of living with their extensive library readily available and presented in the space. Second, the ability to thoughtfully display their museum-quality collection of African and African-American art and photography was critical. And, finally, the kitchen had to be integrated within the composition of the floor plan to somewhat disappear within the millwork cabinetry concept of the space.
