MMD is Pleased to Welcome Architect Susan Block Moores to Our Team

As a senior member of the MMD team, Susan is an experienced architect and manager, skilled in meeting client goals in design, project coordination and budget management. She is a proven leader in sustainable thought and practice, and is proficient in all building phases with emphasis on design and technical detailing. She is skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and Adobe Photoshop. Her experience includes projects in education, healthcare, government, multifamily, cultural and residential. Her work in historic preservation has earned her several design awards, including a AIA Washington DC Award of Excellence in Historic Resources for the Stephen Decatur House Museum.

Before joining MMD she worked as an architect at numerous firms on projects that have included K-12 and higher education, work for the Smithsonian Institution, religious facilities, embassies, and prominent projects at National Institutes of Health, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center, Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Duke University Medical Center. Her work on the Nigerian Chancery was recognized with a AIA Washington DC Award of Excellence.

Susan is registered in both Washington, DC and Maryland. In addition to being a LEED Accredited Professional, she also holds a Living Future Accreditation. She received her Bachelor of Arts in American Civilization, Preservation & Planning from The George Washington University and her Masters in Architecture from Syracuse University School of Architecture.
