We The Girls: Year 2

For the second year, the MMD branding team is working with DC Public Schools Office of Student Empowerment and Equity Programs to promote a leadership conference for young students, titled “We the Girls.” The conference is planned as part of Reign, a key initiative launched by Mayor Bowser in partnership with DCPS, to build community, confidence and leadership skills for young women of color.  This year, the conference will be held on June 2 at Woodrow Wilson High School, where girls from all over the District will come together to participate in workshops and hear from speakers about topics that include building a positive self-identity, managing cyber-bullying, prioritizing health and wellness, college preparedness, and more.

The MMD design team created the brand identity for the Reign initiative, designing a logo that celebrates cultural diversity. With the launch of the first We the Girls conference last year, MMD created all the promotional materials and signage for last year’s inaugural event and is currently wrapping up the design for this year’s event.  “To work with the DCPS team once again on programming that inspires and supports young women is truly an honor for our team,” said Chrys Sbily, MMD Senior Director of Marketing, Communications, and Branding.
