Connected Schools are schools that partner with the community to provide an integrated approach to academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement in order to ensure that all students thrive.
“Communities and schools have symbiotic relationships — when one succeeds, the other succeeds,” said Chancellor Lewis D. Ferebee.
A bright and engaging color palette was selected to complement the DCPS brand and the outline of the District of Columbia in a pattern represents community and connectivity. An informative piece of collateral was designed to clearly explain how the model works and illustrate which schools in the District are currently participating. MMD designers worked closely with program administrators to create a compelling brand that would help meet important communications goals as the program continues to grow and expand.
